Ameson Repair Gel and Calming Bliss will be applied to soothe the experience.

SPF 30 or 50 factor is strongly recommended throughout the duration of the treatment.

Avoid direct sunlight (sunbathing).

Patients with hypersensitivity to the sun should take extra care and precautions to guard against exposure.

Avoid sun exposure and sunbeds post treatment.

Your practitioner will advise best aftercare according to your treatment.

Do not use AHA’s/BHA’s for 24 hours

Follow the after care guidelines given by your practitioner for the time scales given.

Your skin may be red for several hours after treatment.

Avoid strenuous exercise until any redness has dissipated, it is advised that you avoid for at least 48 hours.

There may be some skin peeling or exfoliation DO NOT PICK/PULL the skin.

When washing your face DO NOT scrub. Use a gentle cleanser designed for sensitive skins.

Apply a light moisturiser as often as needed to relieve dryness and tightness.

DO NOT have another facial treatment for at least 7 days after your treatment.

Chemical peels are normally divided into three sections by doctors. There are some of them:

Surface Peels: Only the outer layers of the skin are affected by these peels. Acne, melasma, and hyperpigmentation are all disorders that they can help with. Peels with glycolic, lactic, or low trichloroacetic acid amounts are examples.

Medium Peel: These peels go further into the skin’s dermis. Medium-depth peels are used to cure conditions such as pigmentation defects, such as sunspots, and wrinkles. A medium-depth peel has a higher concentration of trichloroacetic acid peel (35 to 50 percent).

Deep Peel: These peels have the ability to penetrate deep into the dermis, even into the reticular dermis’ middle layer. They can cure skin issues including extreme scarring, deep acne, and serious sun exposure and are only available at a doctor’s office. A Baker-Gordon peel, phenol, or a high percentage of trichloroacetic acid are both examples.

The depth of a salicylic acid peel is determined by the percentage of acid used, as well as the number of layers or passes used for the solvent and skin preparation. Salicylic acid peels sold over the counter are just superficial.

A smoother medium-depth peel may also be applied by a dermatologist.

Salicylic acid peels should not be used by the following people:

• people that have a history of salicylate allergies, which may include aspirin in certain cases
• individuals who take isotretinoin (Accutane)
• pregnant women with active dermatitis or itching on the skin

If a person has skin cancer, he or she should avoid using a salicylic acid peel on the affected region.

Salicylic acid peels have less side effects than most peels because they are milder. They may contain the following:

• greater sun exposure
• redness
• slight tingling feeling
• peeling

Salicylic acid chemical peel has a number of advantages that make it ideal for peeling applications. It is an excellent peel to treat active acne by penetrating into the dermis layer to dissolve the bacteria that causes acne break out.

• Comedolytic:  Salicylic acid unplugs dead skin cells and accumulated oils that cause acne blemishes.
• Desmolytic is a form of desmolytic. The ability of salicylic acid to exfoliate skin cells by destroying intercellular connections.
• Anti-inflammatory properties. At low doses, salicylic acid has an anti-inflammatory effect on the skin. This could aid in the treatment of acne.
