Expression lines and wrinkles are formed on the face (in the eye contour area, on the forehead, between the eyebrows, around the mouth, on the chin) as a result of repeated and constant movements of the facial muscles.
Muscles contract when stimulated by certain substances (catecholamines = adrenaline + noradrenaline) which are contained in the vesicles.
It is a biochemical process which depends on the flow of sodium (Na+) and calcium (Ca++) ions in the fibroblasts,leading to the rupture of vesicles (exocytosis) and the release of catecholamines. It gives the same effects as Botox without the injection.
