How many microneedling sessions for acne scars?
Microneedling for acne scars works by entering the top layer of skin with small needles, causing collagen formation to rise where the micro-wounds are produced.
Excess collagen functions as a ‘filler,’ smoothing out the skin surrounding scars and enhancing the overall look.
For moderate acne scars: 3 – 4 sessions
For severe acne scars: 8 session and more (depending on severity)
Microneedling can also be combined with fractional Co2 laser for better results.
